Matthew “Hank” Rutherford is often remembered as a young man with unmeasurable character. This scholarship is offered to BAHS graduating seniors who display strong character and aspire to make meaningful contributions to society. Keeping this in mind, explain, in essay format, why the Matthew “Hank” Rutherford committee should consider you for this scholarship.

To apply:

1. Please submit an essay featuring a response to: What does it mean to you to have strong character, how have you displayed that throughout your life thus far, and how has that allowed or will allow you to make meaningful contributions to society?
2. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or mentor
3. The letter of acceptance from the college you will be attending
4. Your BAHS transcript
5. Your address and best phone number to reach you
